My life was transformed by the love and mercy of Abba Father.
I confess that I lived most of my live focused on myself, my family, my career and growing richer. In 1998 I had a major crisis in my life as I lost my job, and our investments fell dramatically in value. This brought great stress into our family. My wife told me to pray to God to get us out of the situation we were in. So I prayed for the ‘peace’ to get through it. The Lord shortly and dramatically answered my prayer, and I have been blessed to walk in the peace of God for over 10 years now! I admit that was the first honest prayer that I prayed in years. I learned that God actually does hear and answers our prayers! I have continued to pray to God ever since then.
In 2002 I had several profound encounters with the Spirit of God. He invited me to join Him and, “Teach the gospel.”
I accepted this invitation through the scripture, Romans 12:1 by offering my life as a ‘living sacrifice.’ I eventually left my very God blessed career and dedicated the remainder off my life to serving the Lord and His body in prayer, teaching the Word in the Bible and discipleship.
In 1999 I began to be discipled and latter discipled others. Although I was saved and baptized as a teen, I lived most of my life away from the church and the ways and will of God.
Discipleship has made all the difference in my life and the life of my family.
This is the reason that Jesus said to His disciples to “Go, and make disciples.” Jesus said, “My sheep will hear My voice and follow Me.” Then the question is; if you can not hear the voice of Jesus in prayer and through reading His word, then how can you follow Him? The answer is that we can’t. We must be discipled to know and do the will of the Lord through our love for Him.
Jesus commanded us that our priority must be to first, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30
You can have a new life in the Lord too. You can start with a sincere prayer to God:
“Dear God, I admit that I have sinned and rebelled against You and do not deserve Your forgiveness and favor. I believe that You love me and gave Your Son Jesus to die as payment for my sins. At this moment I do receive Him by faith to be my personal Savior and make Him Lord over my life. Thank You dear Lord, for sending Your Son as a sacrifice to die for me and giving me the free gift of Your great grace and everlasting life with You. In Jesus’ Name I pray. AMEN”
